TheSam Steele Award.
The RCMP Veterans' Association (PEI) President Phil Pitts (L) presents the Sam Steele Spur Award to Cpl Glenn Dudley (R) Kings District , assisted by “ L“ Division Sergeant Major Troy MacLean (C) at the recent Veteran’s Lobster dinner.
This award is presented annually to a member of “L” Division (PEI) who has demonstrated long and outstanding service to the RCMP, their fellow members and the communities they serve above and beyond the ordinary. The long shank spurs are donated by a member of the Veterans Association and are a throwback to the days when horseback riding formed part of our basic training. The spurs have not been issued since the late 1960s and form a tangible link between serving and retired members of the RCMP. The spurs, in this instance, were donated by retired member Walter Charlesworth. Congratulations Glenn and thank you Walter!
